An evening filled with intention, movement, and a little adventure, ending with one of the most breathtaking sunsets I have witnessed on the shoreline. This romantic Lake Michigan engagement gave us every bit of sweetness as it did adventure.

We began their engagement session downtown, coincidentally near the spot where Carsen proposed. Walking along the riverwalk, we captured portraits that felt intimate and relaxed, with the city quietly framing their story. These moments felt especially meaningful, knowing this was where their next chapter began.

Stormy Skies and Sunset on the Shores of Lake Michigan
From downtown, we headed toward the beach as the weather began to shift. The sky grew moody, the wind picked up, and the lake took on those soft pink and purple tones that only appear right before a storm. It felt cinematic and romantic in the most effortless way.
We walked the sandy shoreline, letting the moment unfold naturally. Just before the rain arrived, the sunset exploded over the water, creating the most magnificent reflection across the lake. And yes, we did end the night running back to our vehicles completely drenched and laughing. An adventure in the best sense of the word.
